How Do We Evaluate and Certify Voice Talent?
All voice talent are required to meet criteria in two areas before they are accepted and qualified as members of the Voicebox1 talent pool.
- Audio Recording & Product Quality
This qualification component will help assure the voice seeker that a voice actor will provide recorded material of professional quality. The goal of this evaluation component will be demonstrating professional recording ability and attention to detail. In addition to voice, we will examine background noise, microphone position, and file delivery type. We feel that assessing a voice talent’s ability to meet professional recording criteria will further distinguish professionals from the non-professionals.
All audio components of this evaluation are reviewed by our partners at Voice Coaches. The Voice Coaches audio team have significant experience in audio production, post production, and voiceover recording. In addition, their five-studio facility is world-class, ensuring exceptional detail in the audio review.
This qualification dimension emphasizes a voice talent’s level of professionalism and personal ethics. To assess this, we require our voice talent pool to provide two references (personal or professional) that can testify to the voice talent’s professionalism, competence, reliability and integrity. We feel that a requirement to meet these criteria will help attract professionals and raise the caliber of voice talent on our website.
Professional Certification Levels
All VoiceBox1 talent must meet the required criteria, as described above, before they are eligible for membership and participation in the Voicebox1 talent pool. With this requirement in mind, VoiceBox1 feels that there also needs to be some basis for classifying voice talent into different levels, based on their level of experience and qualifications. For this reason, we have developed three levels of professional certification to make this distinction.
- Master Voice Professional (MVP)
This level of certification is reserved for professionals that can demonstrate experience, qualifications and recording capability that far exceed the minimum level of criteria required for certification. This is manifested in the greater number of professional jobs and unique clients that these talents possess. As a result of their demonstrated achievements, they are rightfully designated as a Master Voice Professional. In order to achieve the status of MVP, a voice actor must meet the following criteria:
- 7+ years of professional voice-over experience
- Minimum of 500 professional voice-over jobs
- Minimum of 200 unique clients
The Voice Professional (VP) certification is for VoiceBox1 talent that exceed the minimum level of criteria required for certification. These members have demonstrated experience and competence and possess a minimum number of professional jobs and unique clients. Like the MVP, these members have demonstrated that they are fully qualified and have met all criteria to be considered qualified as members of VoiceBox1’s pool of talent. They are designated as Voice Professionals (VP). In order to achieve the status of VP, a voice actor must meet the following criteria:
- 2+ years of professional voice-over experience
- Minimum of 100 professional voice-over jobs
- Minimum of 50 unique clients
- Certified Professional (CP)
A Certified Professional has met all required criteria to be certified by VoiceBox1 as a professional voice actor, but has not yet reached either of the two higher levels of certification. These members, nevertheless, have demonstrated that they are fully qualified and have successfully passed the evaluation and are eligible to participate as members of VoiceBox1’s talent pool. In order to achieve the status of Certified Professional, a voice actor must meet the following:
- Ability to meet criteria as described under Qualification Criteria above
